Hell's Backbone is located at the high end of the drainage basin, in the Box-Death Hollow Wilderness. The area offers mountain camping, windy gorges, and some challenging back-packing.

Posy Lake Overlook - A half-mile walk up a steep trail brings you to this beautiful view over Posy Lake in the Escalante Mountains.

The Hell's Backbone Road is the long route between the towns of Escalante and Boulder, but is well worth the trouble.
